Care and Endurance Performance (2017-Present)

My collaborative, communal project of "Care and Endurance" performances of 108 Surya Namaskars began in 2017. It seeks to serve human society, building community through wellness. Care ethics and practices are a fundamental part of this endeavor, in particular, making one keenly aware of the needs of others. As a performer of 108 Surya Namaskars every day, I combine my skills in art and yoga to practice care ethics and endurance, as I, with my team, help participants perform Surya Namaskar 108 times by conducting a month-long workshop since 2017.
Surya Namaskar is an ancient yogic practice in India. The sun Salutation features 12 steps of forward and backward bending exercises, stretching, and strengthening. Completing these movements 108 times is linked with endurance because it challenges physical and mental limits and elevates one's awareness of body and mind.
This project began with my vision, and ten more young yoga instructors (now more than 20 instructors) became motivated and keen to be part of my endeavor. From its inception in 2017 as S.N.Team, this project became a collaborative team and has now evolved into the S.N. Foundation, offering services in regular yoga, education, culture, arts, and health.
